Really? That's pretty impressive, especially with how it sounds.

The idea struck me to get an Element at about 3:00am this morning. A tuned Liberty diesel would get better mileage, and actually be off-road capable, but since I'd really only be buying it because I was forced to, the off-road part doesn't really matter to me.
I always liked Elements, and realized this morning that it'd actually be a pretty great family vehicle and commuter (except for the mileage), and they can be had for about the same as a Liberty.
Haha, that makes more sense. I only vaguely remember you talking about this truck. Is it new? Is it something you just finished? What's the deal again?
Wife has had an element for the past ten years. It's been a fantastic car. Sucks if you have little ones that you need to put in a car seat in the back. The back seat sits back so far you have to get up in there. But there's a huge amount of space in the back when you fold the seats up. Also the rear doors suck in general in tight parking spots. It's a bit light so even with awd I have to baby it in snow. Otherwise it's been great. Kept up on all the maintenance. Still on the original clutch at 175k miles. Mpg is in the high 20s on the highway. If we drive slower we can get better than 30. I've had it on some forest roads where the subarus couldn't make it. Not an off road vehicle but it will get you to decent camp sites. We'll probably keep it for a long time.
I bought it almost a year ago. It's about 95% complete. I'm planning on pulling the nitrous this year, disc brake conversion, possibly putting the bench seat back in and start saving $$$ for a full color change.
Pulling the nos will make you lose pts off of your man card.
Hypothetically.
