I already wrote a check for something like $7,500 late last year, which was half of the estimated amount. However, I wasn't sure what I was going to make, and I only made about 60% of the estimated amount. So between making way less, and the high amount that I was able to write off, there is a small chance I could even get some money back. I'm not counting on that, but the possibility exists.

That's easy to tell...if the perp is caught and goes to jail, he's a common criminal. If they instead get a promotion, they're from the government, and they're here to help.

Along those lines, is it common practice for the IRS to send a NOTICE OF INTENT TO SEIZE (LEVY) with a 10 day payment demand, for the FIRST such notice?
They've done this to me the past 2 years (underpayment penalties) for late (extension given) payment of taxes due.
Always comes Feb-Mar too so getting through to find out WTF is going on is impossible. I just pay it, but would like to understand why it took them so long and appears to be a 2nd or 3rd notice.
