There's still an open service action on the coil packs for my A6, and I can never seem the right time to call the stealership to make a service appt to bring it in. Put 2 NAPA coil packs on it so far to keep it going. Reportedly, they'll reimburse me for those, or at least give them back.Quote:

I've heard that line of thinking before, and can't understand it even a little bit. Why in the world would you possibly opt out of having an airbag?
Because I was injured worse in slow slide(15-20mph) on ice and bump into tree than 65mph roll over(end over end w/ 2 twists).
Broken nose, concussion, both black eyes and sore neck vs sprained wrist and bump on head.

I'm not sure what to say. I'd ask how you know, but I imagine you can specifically list which injuries were from the airbag on the low speed impact. Seems like a simple enough solution of adjusting when they come out then eliminating them. I can't imagine the large numbers agree that not having airbags is safer.
Most cars nowadays have side airbags in the seat that protect you from your arms and head flying out the window in a rollover. I was more badly injured when I was rear ended at about 15mph than when I t-boned another car at approximately the same speed. Airbags didn't deploy, but that's because I was moving too slowly (airbags won't activate until at least 20-25mph).
Even my tiny convertible has those side curtain airbags in them. I put in an aftermarket steering wheel in my car, but opted to keep the airbag.
