It's a requirement now that all children's television must be both meta and woke.
The stuff I grew up with was more focused on education. Social engineering took over a long time ago.
There's more educational information in an old Scholastic Rock segment from when I was young relative to an entire 30 minute to 1 hour program today.

I don't think I have an issue with things that are meta in general. In this case, the premise is that they were in space for the last 30 years and when they arrive back at home, they find out that their favorite show is no longer on the air. So they want to get their favorite show back and go on and on about how many people miss the show and blah blah blah.
On another note, where can I find good anime? Is there a free channel on Roku somewhere? I'm looking for stuff like Ninja Scroll, Sword of the Stranger, Afro Samurai, Spirited Away (and all the other Hayao Miyazaki stuff), Paprika, etc.
Watched Arctic on Prime last night-not a bad survival movie but snail pace movie. Tried episode 1 Righteous Gemstones on HBO last night, didn't do it for me.
I've been bored and watching "Better Than Us" on Netflix. In Russian, but dubbed into English pretty well. It seems OK. I'd like it to show more skin.
The Taco Chronicles on netflix is pretty dang good....the subtitles help
Bing watched Yellowstone over the weekend.
Paramount networks online is commercial free.
I would have preferred watching it on the big TV, but sitting close to a 24" monitor isn't too bad a trade off vs enduring commercials. Now that I'm caught up, I can catch them on the big screen.
Finished the last 2 episodes of The Boys.
I've been enjoying Derry Girls. It's an Irish coming of age thing set in Ireland during the 90's. I wouldn't say it's a must see, and I miss a lot of the regional references and some slang. It keeps making me laugh though, even during the predictable parts. It tries to be a comedy overlaid during a dark time with the IRA. Also it has a weird Rick and Morty family setup.
