I did a bunch of searches and it seems like maybe a dryer sheet or two would have prevented this?

I also have a pasta strainer that I put all of the brass in after tumbling and swirl it around a bit to get the last of the tumbler media off and also to knock off any dust. If you haven't figured it out too, you might want to do the tumbling outside because dust gets everywhere if you do it inside (although some people do tumble inside and deal with it).

SHIT CAN THAT RED CRAP. You could throw a dryer sheet factory in with that crap and still have red shit all over the place. For what you paid i can send you 2x as much corn cob media. I always use dryer sheets, used red crap 2x, cursed 2x's then went to walnut. Now using CC.

Well, I got it for free.... And so far it polishes the brass nicely, once you get the red dust off.

Would plain cc be better than reptile bedding (walnut)?

Cost wise, yes. the reason it polishes nicely, is the rouge imbedded in the media. Switch to CC, or walnut (bedding) with some NuFinish car polish and see the difference. Put the media in tumbler add cap of polish, run tumbler 20-30 min, then add the brass and dryer sheet.

And HB, I use lizard bedding (crushed walnut) and just discovered Nu Finish, and it really does work wonders!
