Scope Research overload... need help

I'm thinking about putting one of these on my 10/22 target rifle.

Looked through one at Cabelas, decent glass, not too big, side parallax. They have a 2-7x32 version if you want something smaller, less magnification.

I like that a lot, but why would you want a 223 BDC on a .22lr platform?
