Thanks for all the suggestions. I don't have a can or I'd honestly go that way. Looking into renting traps now, also have a call into the city and DOW. Mom's thinking she can just cut the grape leaves back and they'll go away. I told her that wouldn't be the case.

I blame everything on Tummy Aches
I have killed many o' animal with my 20 caliber benjamin sheridan pellet rifle as well... Bullet placement obviously key.

Use small braided stainless to make your snares. They chew through string if you go that route.

A .22 single shot rifle, .22CB caps and a baby bottle nipple are a good one shot makeshift supressor. At least so I've heard.

I'm pretty proficient at snares thanks to the good old survival school of the US military! I might have to "ask around" about that tactic with baby bottle nipples.

I think traps are your best option. d-CON is a pretty indiscriminite killer. If you trap, you could drown them or release them. If you have a crappy co-worker across town, you can always release the coons at their place.

Option
I would say go buy or adopt a hound dog.

I used to trap a lot when i lived in Michigan. You buy/ rent the traps i will be able to trap the coons for you. if you are interested free of charge of course!
I got out of trapping out here because you can only use cage traps
but did have really good luck with cage traps too.
does she have cats?
if you dont want me to come help you trap them you can pm me and i will give you some ideas on how to do it. especially if you send me some pictures of the back hard i could tell you where to place the traps!
good luck! they will be looking for places to hole up here pretty soon though... which could either be good or bad

For the snare route, those cheap wire survival saws are good for the critter end to prevent them from chewing through it and getting loose.
