I had to relate an event that happened today.
I've been slowly collecting really old muskets and such, two of which have come from I.M.A. The first was the Percussion Cap Musket that took the place of the Brown Bess when the Tower of London burned. 1842 if I remember correctly. It is non working but the stock and most metal is amazing. So, I bought a 3 band Enfield - 1853 and paid for a hand picked one. I was not really thrilled with it due to what I thought was some excessive cracking on the stock. While mulling this over I decided to get one of the Martin Henry MKIII long lever repeaters from them last night. I didn't opt for the upgrade extra $$ for best pick since I thought I had a bummer deal on the 3 band. I ended up calling and canceling the order this AM and told them I was afraid I would get a boat anchor and was pretty leary of ordering again.
So, I get a phone call before lunch today and it's one owners of I.M.A. He was a really nice guy, absolutely concerned about what had happened and wanted to make things right. I hadn't realized that the 3 bands had seen a lot of use & abuse and that the others like the Martin hadn't. He offered to take it back, but I decided to keep it. He also offered to hand pick a Martin himself for me if I would re consider buying one. So, I did. I figure with customer service like this, I can't turn him down. It would be like slapping him in the face for going the extra TWO miles...... He wasn't even in the office today and called me from home.
IMO, this is one of the best companies I have dealt with. If you haven't paroozed their pages, give them a look.
