I open carry quite a bit. If it's some government buildings, including those run by the state or county, I'm pretty sure they have the right to say "Not in here." They don't, however, have the right to say, "Not in McDonald's!". McD's can put up a sign, but it carries no legal weight here in CO.

Honestly, someone seeing a gun in a holster of someone laughing and having a good time with friends or getting food at Tokyo Joe's and getting freaked out is a personal problem.

Same here. I could not have said it better.

Private property owners have the right to not allow guns on their property. The 2nd doesn't apply to private property. That being said I ignore the signs and carry concealed. I just personally believe it is better to conceal carry all the time. Open carry is just asking for trouble.

Ronin, I think you're referring to Mink here? Any ideas on who will run to replace him? I live in Jeffco and this is definitely something I'd like to stay informed on.

If I had to wager a guess, I'd say Ray Fleer, his undersheriff... I've met the man a couple times, he's a good guy, smart, and knows his stuff, not just about the county, but the department, and seems to echo Mink's dedication to the job and the Constitution.
