The chinese knockoffs are very easy to tell apart if you know what a real ASE looks like. They look close but have no fine details like a real ASE.

As for Th OP question ASE and maples are nice but have big premiums I would go with name brand rounds, then start in on the ASE and maples. Just my 2 cents
