Red face MR-10™ Bolt Action Rifle?

Looking for opinions on this long gun.
I have yet to find any thorough review in regards to this rifle.
Below was the closest review I could find, but even that was vague.

    Over priced? Sexy? Thoughts?

Torn on purchasing either that or may check out BlackOps precision rifles. http://blackopsprecision.com/?product=infidel-rifle
Mainly looking for something with a folding stock and a threaded front end so I can swap out for a Surefire and utilize my suppressor at will.

I don't know a thing about it, but you can get the two things you mention any number of ways. One option is a Remy 700 or other comparable action in an AICS 2.0 chassis. There are a number of other folding chassis stocks to choose from.

You'll put that type of system together for $2,000 - $2,500 depending on your selections. $4K seems high to me, but I'm cheap.

4k does some really high for a product I have not heard much about.
In regards to the stock I was looking at the AICS 2.0 versus the AX ACIS. What is there to gain for the additional $$?

The AX is a pistol grip which some guys prefer. I'm running the AICS 2.0 and like the thumbhole, though I'm not married to it. The AX obviously also has the rails, but unless you're running NV or a laser, I can't think of anything to hang on it.

That is JP's chassis system with there 700 clone custom action , IIRC it is made by Defiance for them . 4k for a rifle on one of the custom actions from one of the bigger smiths is about right .

Figure 1k for the action , 1-1.5k for the stock , 3-350 for a barrel , 125-250 for a trigger , and 100ish for a base and your about 3 grand for parts . Can you do it cheaper , yes depending on your parts choices but the cheapest custom action I know of is a grand and they only go up from there .

Right now the toss up is between the new MR-10, a used Surgeon Scalpel rifle (70 rounds through it great condition), or a new Black Ops Precision (infidel model) rifle.

Any one of them will work , try an AICS stock before committing to it , my experience is it is a love / hate deal with no middle ground . If the rifle doesn't fit well and is not comfortable to shoot it doesn't matter how well built it is you'll never shoot it well .

    Excellent advice.

A great amount of advice here for sure.

Keep in mind. If you plan to sell it later or even think about selling it. I'd stick to a "clicky/mainstream" name like GAP if you're willing to drop $4K on a rifle alone, but if anything else... try to build it so it'll fit you (much trial and error).

I honestly think the "Big name" builders are kinda over rated for what it's worth... don't get me wrong... they "will" shoot extremely well if you do your part, but I've seen stock/new out of the box Rem 700 .308 with glass worth less than $1K shoot groups less than 1/2 MOA at a hundred yards with surplus 147 gr ammo many times too.

I got me a GAP .308.. no regrets and I am keeping it till I shoot the barrel out (someday, lol) . I'm a beginner in the long range shooting (compared to many on here) and I do appreciate the "Big name brand".... the rifle tells me "I'm the one who f*cked up!" if I miss a shot... so you do get what you pay for in some ways

Went ahead and pulled the trigger on the MR-10. 11 pounds versus 18 pounds with the AI 2.0 stock and saved a few grand in the process. Thanks for the input!
