Default Appraisals subforum in Trading Post?

I just noticed the gun forum I'm on in NC has one. Seems like it's been pretty useful to members there.
I've seen people asking "what's X worth?" in the general discussion area, and people posting random, somewhat reasonable numbers for their item in the Trading Post because they're not sure of its value. I myself am not 100% sure what a rifle I currently have listed is really worth, and have it listed with "OBO" in case I have it over (or under) priced.
I think that given the amount of seriously knowledgeable people here, like BPtactical and Bailey Guns, something like this would serve to benefit our members here, especially given the fact that a dollar value is required to be posted with anything for sale or trade.

Horrible idea with the low balling bastards here who will turn around and sell it the next day for a higher price.

    Just my opinion.

Its easy enough for me to block the trading post for you so you don't have to look at all the bad deals. It would be no problem at all for me I promise. One simple button, I'm just sayin...just let me know

OP it's a descent idea but I honestly don't see it being busy enough to warrant having a separate forum for it. If there were 2 or 3 posts a wek in the General Discussion it might be something to look at but probably not right now

Makes sense. Then again, we have a subforum for the Western Slope guys that's had less than a dozen threads in it ever, and a shotgun-specific subforum that hasn't been posted in in almost a month, and it doesn't seem like the knife subforum is super-active either.
I don't think it'd just be used by people trying to sell, either. I have a buddy who inherited a beautiful engraved matching rifle and shotgun set from his grandpa and has no idea what it's worth... I'm sure there are others in similar situations. My home insurance coveres firearms and I had to give them a seat-of-the-pants ballpark value for coverage in that category.
If yall are completely against it, I won't push it, but I think it'd be a pretty useful thing for everybody.

Reality is it is only worth what somebody is willing to pay.
That being said with our items there are way too many variables to accurately appraise an item sight unseen.
Best bet, look and see what comparable items are selling for on GB, Armslist etc. Note I said what they are selling for, not what they are listed at.
