the "What's it worth" sub-forum might be an interesting idea, just don't put it in the gun section. If someone might be knowledgeable on paintings, or cars, antiques - the forum might help figure things out. I've got a few hand-me-down shotguns/rifles that I want to know their worth, but don't know where to start. I have some old metal chunks I found with a metal detector and don't know wtf they are. The forum might help some.
