So I was shooting with a friend and a guy named "Mike" pulls up next to our shooting stand and is Test Driving some XDM's for his LE Office.
He saw that we were proficient shooters and asked us to join in on the XDM shoot. Best part- Didn't have to pay for ammo... so we didn't say no.
So he pulls out these 11 cases with 11 slightly shot XDM's.
Long story shortened considerably:
All shot reliably- Zero malfunctions but we were not shooting high volume. Just 2-3 mags each gun. (not even ammo malfunctions)
All shot very accurately. We were shooting from 10-75 yards. X-rings at 10 yards were easy. 8-10" Balloons at 100 yards were very possible.
With the different adjustments they all fit everyone's hands.
The Comp models have a noticeable recoil reduction due to the longer barrel.
All in all great pistols except my personal preferences (see below)
Personal notes-
FWIW- I was told not to dry fire the XD series guns as the striker will break.
Didn't like the Fiber Optic Front Sight on the Competition models- found it distracting. (I know you are supposed to focus on the front site- but lost situational awareness) For close range combat shooting it might be a plus though... but the Comp guns are the largest/longest and probably not going to be anybody's CCW or duty weapon with a 5.25" barrel. It seems more like a race gun design.... hence the competition designation
Last note- although the guns can be shot accurately the triggers are awful on the XDM (better than the XD), but the XDM Comp is a lot better.
Anybody have a different experiences?
