Always learn more by shooting competition than just range time. I have to figure out why monopoding off the mag is jamming up my bolt. I had a few flashbacks of running disfunction ally back in the day during the match.
Mom's comin' 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.

It was a good time. It was my third match in two years but the first time I actually had all my ducks in a row, rifle worked, I understood the course, had the right optics and almost a zero. Nice not to finish dead last and out of ammo.

Now if I could just learn to shoot offhand!

A few pics from this month's match:

Close-range stage, note the target sitting just beneath the bush.

    CLANG!
Every time a steel target rings, an angel locks and loads.

This stage involved a little bit of movement.

Note the use of the Nordic Components magazine extension.

I love it when you get a photo with the brass still in the air.

Testing out the new OP MOD II from Optics Planet. It's a fairly neat piece of kit, and despite being sub-optimal for long range shots, did pretty well. (The rifle it's mounted to, on the other hand...)

Yeah, we did a bit of offhand shooting. Not so easy with the EoTech.

    RUN!

Notably, this is the first SCAR that we've had show up at our match.

If there's nothing wrong with having to show an ID to buy a gun, there's nothing wrong with having to show an ID to vote.

For legal reasons, that's a joke.

A few pics from last Sundays match. I spent too much time on the timer and not enough time taking pics.

Dont be scared, even girls shoot this match. Staying at home wont help you get any better. Get out there and shoot.

Again this year these matches would not happen without everyones support and help. I could not and would not do it without everyone chipping in and helping. Special thanks to Justin for being my Assistant Match Director and doing a great job with setting things up on the shotgun berms. He designed some excellent stages this year.

    See you guys next year.

Some tough offhand shooting on the shotgun berms.

Shooting a little prone on the 400 yard stage. This fellow and his father came all the way from Florida to shoot with us.

A few pics of John using the various props on the 400 yard stage.

Challenging fun match this month. Here's a position I had never shot in, was surprisingly stable.
    Dude, where's my can?
