Default Dusting off the range bag...My 308 HS Precision's first time at range

I hate to admit it but its been 4 months since I've done any shooting at all, guess I've been too busy collecting ammo instead of shooting it I just picked up this HS in trade and my first instinct was to sell it (posted it right away for sale) instead of shooting it. Then realized I was being crazy so I removed the listing and loaded up some ammo. Here's my results.

I loaded up 50 rounds of Lake City Brass(only shot 23), F210m primers, 168gr Hornady HPBT Match, and 43.5gr of Varget. Put a 20moa NF rail on it along with a Bushnell Elite FFP 6-24x50.

Range day conditions, swirling winds and I forgot my freaking rear bag or should I call it my woobie..

Took me 6 shoots to find a close zero.

    Here are my group results..

    1st group: 3 shots 1.550 inches
    2nd group: 4 shots .387 inches
    3rd group: 3 shots .660 inches
    4th group: 6 shots 1.150 inches
5th group: 1 shot in the center

Bottom right shows promise.. Very little horizontal dispersion!

I've had great luck in .308 with W760 over Varget personally. But each barrel is like a woman; finicky.

I did take those shots at 100 yards.

Took it back out and shot it again and the results were much better. No wind and I had my rear bag. Of course I left the target and didn't get any photo's...

I will have to get my hands on some W760 and see how this rifle likes it, I haven't used it in the past. It is always nice to hear of another powder that the 308 likes!

Update on the HS...Went through the reloading cabinet and found some 155 grain VLD's, and thought what the heck. I loaded up 50 with varget and 210M primers. I shot 16 3 shot groups at 100 yards. 13 of the 16 groups were under 1/2 inch and most of those were in the high 3's to low 4's. The other 3 were pretty bad... Anyway, I was really excited it shot so well. The "felt" recoil was surprisingly low compared to the other loads I've tried, along with the extra speed out to 1000 yards vs the larger bullets.
