Exclamation My longest confirmed pdog headshot!

Today in Hudson, CO. Spotting by Will, "Steps". My secret recipe .223 reload with a Nosler 40 grain Ballistic Tip Varmint projectile, fired through my Remington Varmint 700 ADL, resting on a Deadshot Fieldpod. Redfield Revenge Varmint scope set to 8x power and 300 yard parallax. Hot as hell with temps in the mid to high 90's, and light to moderate wind from the SE.

Actual distance confirmed via a Redfield Raider 550 Metric.

    361 meters, (395 yards).

The circled item in the Pdog picture is the poor bastard's brain. Looks intact, like the round cut it off cleanly at the stem! The arrow in the distance picture indicates where the shot was taken from.

I actually seem to be more lucky, than good. I'll take that...

Did you pick up the brain and put it into a glass spice-jar, then fill it with formaldehyde?!

Actually I sautéed it and fed it to a little boy sitting next to me on the plane. After all, "it is important... to always try new things." Of course, this was after I feed the prairie dog some of it!

Honestly, I just said that because I loaded those up so long ago that I can't remember what I used!

I think he fell straight down and flopped around a little. The Noslers are excellent for distance, but the Hornady SP SX throws them up in the air upon impact! Here's one that I hit at about 150 yards that Will watched flip up in the air a couple feet before landing!

    Super Explosive indeed!
