    Default Need Suggestion on Knife

My LT from my Guard unit is PCS'ing to Alaska (wife is active duty and being stationed there). The platoon would like to give him a quality fixed blade knife that can be engraved with something commemorating his time with us. My timeline to get this done is 20 days.

The Marines have their distinctive K-Bar that is great for this type of purpose, but I don't want to borrow from them. What kind of knife would you suggest that is reasonably priced ($100 or under) that has a blade length of 7 inches or under, where can I get it and where can I get it engraved at, all within my short timeline?

Contact ESEE they're in your price range but I don't know about the engraving timeline. http://www.eseeknives.com/contact-us.htm
They offer military and LE discounts.

You might want to just go check out Rapid Fire Bunker in Littleton. IP here on the board and a nice selection of quality blades. Steve is super great to work with.

I have a card at home from one of the Laser engravers from the Tanner, I can check when I get in if you shoot me a PM.

    My Feedback

I have done business with these folks: http://www.farmersengraving.com/

They laser engraved (etched maybe) a Stranahan's bottle for me and the price was reasonable and they did it pretty quick. I called anywhere and they were the only folks that would even consider engraving a full bottle of whisky.

Thanks for the suggestion! PM inbound (as well as a reply to your PM!)

You may want to check out Rocky Mountain Guns and Ammo in Parker. I was in there a couple days ago and they had a huge collection of knives, many old school folders, bowies and tactical fixed blades. They are located in the SE corner of the shopping center off of Main St and 83 (next to Goodwill)

Thanks for the suggestion! I will stop by there.

If engraving a 1095 blade such as an ESEE, give some thought to coating that engraved area, even with something clear. Some steels, while making for great knife blades, can rust very quickly if not looked after regularly.
