Just starting to get into the long range game, And I just bought a savage 10 fcp .308 with a 20 in barrel. And I am looking to get a new scope. I'm planning on using this rifle as a double duty gun for both deer and longer range target shooting. The scope that I'm looking at is a swfa ss 3-9x. It has 81 moa of elevation adjustment. Does that mean that I would have 40.5 moa on both sides of zero? If that's the case I'm thinking I should get a 20 moa base for the perverbial 1000 yard shot. Federal 168 gr. match ammo should drop 421 inches in 1000 yards. Any thoughts or suggestions? Btw- I'm not going to take a shot at a deer at 1000 yards, haha
