That is true. And I have been up to the summit about 20 times in the last month. But not with my truck.

I have been thinking a lot about this for my jeep and I came up with a little different plan. Getting the 100 gallon tank is going to take a significant amount of space from your bed so if you are using it for work eventually is is going to be a pain in the ass and will need to be unloaded for something. I think that it would be easier to buy a little trailer with a tank and you could build your generator and whatever else you wanted to into it. Then keep the tank full but use it for a refill in your truck every so often and hook up to it and top it off afterwards.

I want to build mine to have my generator, 150 gallons of gas and a dirtbike all packed together in a real travel ready setup. That way it is always good to go, I don't have to take the time to load anything, and I don't have to carry it all around with me. Also I plan to use it as my rig for going hunting so I am trying to find a little enclosed trailer so that I can pack all my hunting tents and camp gear in there too. I could make a round trip to hunting camp without ever hitting a gas station. Then stack up some fuel points on the old king soopers card and top it off for cheap when I get back.

So as long as you had a place to park a little trailer, I think that it would save time, money and heartache in the long run all while increasing the capabilities beyond the options that you are currently looking at.

Its certainly an option but not a good one for me. Little trailers and long wheel base means you can't back it for anything. Id also have 8ft of empty space.

Want to buy a converted s10 pickup bed trailer? Ugly is an understatement and you need a tetnis shot but ill sell it cheap
