Default Suppressed youth rifle? Updated with pics!

My daughter is showing interest in shooting. Simply because I can, I'm going to set up whatever I get for her with a can. With that in mind, the barrel has to be large enough in diameter that Bert can put 1/2" -28 threads on it.

I've looked at the Cricket, and I also see Savage has some youth models. I want a bolt action, don't care if it's a repeater or a single shot. Does it make any sense to buy an adult model with a wood stock and cut it down? Anyone have experience with any of these?

I'll run a red dot for her, so it would be nice if the receiver were drilled for a pic rail. If not, Bert can do that, too.

In the end, it must be pink. It can come that way, or I'll do it. I'd like to keep it cheap.

Yes, a suppressed Cricket is silly. That's the fun!

CZ has a youth model that comes with a single shot adapter and will accept 5 and 10 rounds mags. The stock can later be swapped for an adult size.

I would buy one of the standard 22's then look for a stock.
Here are a few options. options

Marlin XT-22YR. Paint the tupperware stock pink. When she out grows it you can just buy a full size XT stock for it.

    Nothing silly about it.

My kids love shooting my Savage Mark II FV-SR. Comes factory with a shorter threaded barrel, and an accutrigger.

The stock may be a little long, but that's something easily modified.

Check out the chiappa little badger

Break action single shot in 22lr (I think they make 22mag as well)

    $160

    Threaded barrel stock

    Pic rail for optics

    Spare round holder in stock.

I dont know how the length of pull will work for your kid. You could always make a new stock it looks pretty dang simple

Another vote for the Savage FV-SR.

Trim the tupperware stock for her to begin with, and then add a Boyds Tacticool (or high dollar - Manners) stock to it when she needs the length again.

I like the savage idea since I already have one. It's my trainer. It's in a Tacticool already, so I have a spare plastic stock I can hack on. Too bad Boyd's doesn't make youth stocks for adult .22's. Seems like there'd be a market.
