    bingo? double down?

So I did a little googling - what makes these books with $200+ (new online prices)? Are they instruction manuals or just people talking or...?
The couple pages I read on amazon were written in a foreign language (Appalachian)

Are these books for "fun" reading like some of the SHTF fiction that's popular, or do you file these away for that day you need to dress a hog, or..? They seem popular, surprised I hadn't heard about them before.

I bought these books years ago with the thought of a possible SHTF someday. Now I'm too old to accomplish the majority of the do it yourself projects covered by the contents in these great books. They have now been sold and just waiting on payment. If the Country really goes belly up, these books could easily make a difference in survival - IMHO.
