    Default Goose hunting

It was the last day i was going to get out for the season!

I limited and my buddy got 2. Up near Ft. Collins. The snow was coming down like crazy later in the afternoon. The geese were everywhere. We watched flock after flock land in a field about 1/4 mile from us, then they all jumped up...I would say at least 2000 of them. Awesome sight to watch. A few came our way!

Good job I still have my goose gun a sxs 10 ga. with 34" barell. I don't hunt water foul anymore. The last time I goose hunted everybody still used lead shot LOL.

I quit because I don't like to eat the greasy bastards. I would hunt them again if somebody else is willing to take the meat.

ya know I keep hearing people call them greasy, but I have yet to ever had a wild goose be "greasy" of course I filet the meat out of the birds, and never cook them whole. My biggest problem with cooking the meat is that it has NO fat, and easily dry's out.

same thing here. I usually cut it up and put it into a stew. even then it still tastes dry to me.

It isn't my favorite meat so i usually give it to family members who really like it, but it is edible!
