OK, so looking around online I've come across a deal on some 700 ADL's @ Cabela's with a scope on them (probably better as a hammer handle than an optic, but it's ebayable) and they're selling them for less than I can get a new action from brownells. So I'm thinking I'm just going to do that and sell the barrel, scope, mount, and rings off and most likely end up using the stock for a billy club since a plastic ADL stock has a value of about zero hahaha. But I think I'm on my way

Sounds like a heck of a build.

I did a bunch of scope looking when I was working buying glass. I decided on the Razor HD as well.

Make sure you get the correct bolt face.

Yeah I'm kinda deciding between the 243 and the 308 in the ADL just thinking on which barrel would sell better, I'd guess the 308. Either way I guess I'm first at the mercy of which is available locally at one of the 2 cabela's stores in town if either.

I recently put together a rifle on a trued R700. Found a R700 action in the 6mmBR classifieds. If that action I bought didn't come up for sale, planned on contacting this gunsmith,

$615 shipped for a stainless trued action is a reasonable price. Don't know anything about this guy, passing an option on to you, worth a phone call. Looks like the guy will install a PT&G bolt knob. I personally prefer the slightly smaller size of the PT&G bolt knobs opposed to the more common Badger knobs.

Well, I have all my parts

Picked up one of the ADL's @ Cabela's for a Donor rifle for about the same amount after taxes and BGC as it would have been for an action from Brownells plus shipping. I plan on selling the scope, Barrel, stock and magazine stuffs, on ebay or GB to help further lower the costs (should offset the taxes anyway).

So if anyone is interested in a brand new .308 R700 Factory barrel, let me know.

I've got 2 Krieger 6.5mm Barrels (going to have both spun up and chambered so I have a ready spare), one shown, My AICS Chassis, a Shilen trigger, NF 20 MOA Base, and a Vortex Razor HD 5-20 sitting in a Spuhr mount. Should come together for a nice rifle. The smith stocks Lugs and Badger style bolt handles so it will also be getting that treatment as well. So now that my bank account has been thoroughly torched, it's all ready to go to the Gunsmith for his voodoo.

I've also got some components, dies, ect to start loading the test loads and find what it likes. The only thing I have to buy yet is the bipod, and a better rear bag. Not 100% sure yet but looking at going to the Atlas Bi-pod as it seems a bit nicer setup, although pretty spendy. Then once a pet load has been found, components in BULK which should be interesting to try and find.

Yeah, I'm working on that, I've got 3 different flavors of bullets, a pound of H4350 and H4831SC, 1K BR2 Primers, and 50 pieces of Lapua and 50 of Nosler Brass to start out the load testing. It's going to be fun and tedious all at the same time. Luckily there's a ton of load data out there to work from with different combinations of the components I've picked out so I'm confident in finding a good shooting load quickly with it.

In the mean time, although it's just got a straight hunting style scope on it, I'm going to hit the P-dog match in Pueblo this month with my Rem XR100 in 204 Ruger. It's a damn good shooter and it'll get me some rifle time to tide me over. Loading 10 rounds against the clock in a single shot bolt should be interesting, but I can do it pretty quickly still as long as my ammo is setting in the right spot.

Nah, I single load every shot. There's plenty of time.
