We're still dry here, but I'm motivated to pick something up for next time. Anybody have any recommendations on model?

Depends on how fast the water comes in. I am using two right now. The regular size one can't keep up. (garden hose size)
Had to hook up the 1 1/2" pump, it does it's job WELL.

I've got a similar item, works good if the water isn't full of big trash items.
