Haha that's funny. You ought to leave them alone until Memorial Day weekend and there will be more little pups to shoot at. Just my $0.02...

Set several personal records today. Longest confirmed kill so far @ 440 yards, and get this, ONE shot, EIGHT kills. That's right, spotted her at about 200 yards and set her flying with my .22-250. It wasn't until we walked up on her that I realized she was surrounded by (7) little "gummy bear" babies splattered all over the place! Now THAT will be one tuff record to beat!

MY FEEDBACK
Scott, they were TEAMING in the fields today. I lost count of kills after we went double digits. There were more out than I've ever seen. Considering we have been hunting on the same property almost every weekend, year round, it doesn't even look like we put a dent in the population!

MY FEEDBACK
When you shoot them unless you kill about 70% it just stimulates more reproduction. Of course the ones you miss get a little smarter but not really.
Yeah, they've gotten smarter overall, running for cover now before we can even get out of the truck. We could hike it, but the first discharge gets the rest within ear shot running underground as well. The trick has been to set up and take the shots farther away. That and we've been working on simultaneous shooters on multiple or single targets, reducing their reaction time and increasing our kills. Yesterday, my average kill was 200 yards, with extended shots at 360 yards. The longest kill was at about 440 yards. The further the distance, the more follow up shots we were afforded.
Still, using an off the rack, $400 bolt action rifle with just an 18x power scope, on a wavering target the size of a shoe, is no easy task at those distances. Also, if that prego I blew up with (7) offspring is consistent with their average reproduction rate, there should always be more varmints than V-MAX!

Here's the ballistic results of the .22-250 on target at 440 yards.

that is awesome! ^^^ i am definitely going to have to take some out today. i need to go buy a box of vmax and reload some .243. i have been killin bunnys almost every night with my beeman pellet gun at like 1am LOL. im kind of surprised, it kills the crap out of bunnys. i am going to try and kill a pdog with it as a challenge. i'll probably have to be within 50 yds which is hard sometimes, but i shot one with my 12ga at about 25 yds. then that just leaves my Ruger Old Army BP .45. ive killed a dog with all my guns except the pellet gun and the Old Army. and i dont even know if its possible for me to hit a prairie dog with the ruger LOL, but it will be fun to try.
