I picked up some 72 grain Barnes Varminators and loaded up some .243 with 39.5 grains of IMR 4895. they are shooting right at 1 moa in my stevens 200. i still have some load developing to do, because i can shoot sub moa with my cheapo 200 when the loads are dialed. the wind affects them more than the heavier rounds i am used to shooting. these are the lightest i have shot in my .243 and i had almost a 1 mil hold to the left due to wind on the 300 yd shot. range was 100-300 yds. i really like the Varminators though.

Broke in my new Savage .17 HMR today. First kill was at 115 yards with two more kills soon after, both via head shot at 90 yards. Need more trigger time with it, but have no doubt I'll be taking em at 200 yards with it soon. After that my Savage .22-250 will take over.

Congrats on the 17. Those are sweet little varmint rifles.

My sons and I shoot our 17HMRs the most. I got a 17 Hornet for Christmas that I cannot wait to shoot, ammo is nowhere to be found.

Thanks Ray! I got tired of bringing the .22 LR for close shots, the .223 for moderate, and the .22-250 for long shots. Now all I need to bring is the .17 HMR and the .22-250. I also went with the .17 HMR because there is always a ton of ammo on shelves, and pretty cheap too!

The .17HMR did quite a number on this bunny today at 50 yards.

The .22-250 was also in fine form, turning this Pdog inside out at 100 yards!

Also had a nice 260 yard kill today with the 22-250. The arrow is pointing to my Jeep from where I took the shot.
