    Default Colt M2012

Anyone have any experience with one of these?

Other than a couple press releases that it's available, I've not been able to find too much information.

I played with one at the gun shop but as far as shooting one, no. To be honest I wasn't really inpressed, the bolt lift seemed pretty heavy, bolt was reasonably smooth, trigger was ok, not great, and the handguard moved. When I picked it up the barrel wasn't centered in the handguard. I pushed against the handguard and it moved too far the other way and stayed. There was probably a way to tighten it, I don't know, the thought of that seemed like it would be really bad on a bipod. I'm much happier with my Badger in an AX chassis, and I think I came out a couple bucks ahead. The Colt is a good looking rifle though.

So, if its not a $4k gun, how much is it worth?

Man I don't know, you do get a Cooper 60 degree action and a chassis, but not a folding stock. I don't the quality of the barrel or chamber but it is a 308 and it will probably shoot alright. If you can put one in your hands before you buy and see if the handguard tightens up then maybe its worth 3k. If I was going to drop 4k on a rifle I'd do an AI Mark III.

The PX gun store here has one on the rack. Very smooth action, a little stiffer to lock the lugs on it. Trigger isn't bad, but I'll try and tune it down a little lighter.

I dropped the hammer on one. I'll post pictures when it arrives. I paid very little for it.

Definitely. I may be unavailable for a few eeks, so it'll have to wait until later... Man, I'm excited!
