Cottontails in SW Colorado?

Hi everyone. I've been on the lookout for good Cottontail habitat in the Mancos/Cortez area. I've been out in lots of sagebrush and PJ lately with an idea for small game. I've seen quite a few Jackrabbits but so far Cottontails seem few and far between. I admit I haven't been out at the crack of dawn but work gets me out in the woods pretty early. Thing is I haven't seen many droppings or tracks even. I'll try an early morning reconnoiter some time just for fun but in the meantime any ideas? Thanks.

I get down to Mancos for work from time to time and can't recall seeing any cottontails now that you mention it. I believe we have a few members down in your area. Perhaps one of them will chime in with something.
