    Default Well bullet or bucket

I built a well bucket today based roughly on this:

    http://americanpreppersnetwork.net/v...?f=125&t=36709

It took 15 minutes and cost me roughly $40 with 100' of rope. I forgot to take pics, but I will. I used 3" PVC.

It nice to know I can get water from the well, even if it's a gallon or so at a time.

I don't know how else you'd get water out of a well if the power is out. I thought it was brilliant when I saw it, and it was stupidly easy to make.

I guess it's possible to contaminate a well with crap on the bucket. I'll buy a bottle of alcohol and store it inside the bucket along with the rope so I can disinfect it before using it.

    Tim,
A windmill is how you get water out of a well without power.

I didnt see in your post, but are you making an A frame or tripod to raise and lower it?
I have not taken the cap off. For various reasons, I will not be able to do so. It's a 6" diameter pipe, and the bucket is 3". I'm merely assuming it will fit. If the bucket needs to be used, damaging what's in the well now will not be a concern.

I hadn't given any thought on how to raise and lower it. I was just going to pull it up by hand. A little crank of some sort is a good idea.

True, but I don't think I can build one for $40.
