Also, I do like the eneloop rechargeable batteries! And you can get adapters for your D cell, if needed, that will use AA batteries instead.
Also one needs to test the adapter because not all of them will work with every appliance.
Also many rechargeable "C" and "D" cells are just AA in a bigger body. I remember looking once and many are 2600-2800Ma but they charge double what a AA battery and adapter would cost.
