Default Need Ideas for Garage Scrap Wood/Metal Storage

Howdy fellas! I'm interested to see how you DIYers store your scrap metal and wood for future projects.

I want to build something that wuill help organize my stuff. Right now the scrap wood is on saw horses taking up lots of room, and the metal is laying all over my next project.

Post your pics I'd like to see what works for you!

I can get you a pic of the pile outside but I'd need to clear the snow off the tarp

LOL! I do have to say having a pile outside the house is a no-go.

I use almost 80% of my 2 car garage open attic for leftover wood/trim/flooring etc.

I think I may do that for the wood, the metal is going to get a little heavy. The only open attic part of my garage is the third car part of the garage. May put the wood up there in the rafters.

The shed in the background is actually my project shop and has 2x4's with plywood running side to side (open in the middle)where the white trim is.
Keep all my excess materials there out of the way.

Store metal outside, in a nondescript shed, or along side the fence. Since you have a HellOA, is the scrap you have worth the headache storage wise, or easier to buy as needed.

    BTW: What's a HOA??

I am very interested. I have a bunch of wood in my attic, and am thinking about building some shelves up there to organize, along with some racks for the wood. I just picked up that extra wood from T-Giv and my wife is NOT happy about having the car outside all winter.

You keep cars in the garage?? garages are for items the spouse would bitch about, tripping over in the house, like a lathe and drill press.
