I can't think of any "gun control measures" short of abolishing individual ownership and complete confiscation of all guns, that could have prevented this. Haven't forgetten the molotov cocktails the kid made, either. Hickenlooper and his apologists are just downright pieces of s***.

I'm not so sure the mom was as gun controlling as the gubner says. Most horse folks are fairly conservative, and at worst indifferent to gun control. I could be wrong. But cowboys and guns go together like peas and carrots.
