Default Attack of the vicious lab

vicious lab attacks innocent geese and kills 8...Interesting morning, we had 4 other setups on the lake that we hunt, along with 3 other populated pits in the fields that surround the lake. The geese that made it past the perimeter had to deal with 1 setup that had ~500 decoys. The blind that is located next to the big spread (150yds away), had about ~300. We had our usual 144 out. The 300 spread limited out by 10, and when we decided to pick up at 1130, we missed 2 flocks that came in to our spot at 1145 while we were in the decoys picking up . Ended up getting 8, and it was the best day I've ever seen my dog work. Made 2 retrieves to about 80 yds, and had one interesting retrieve on a pair that we dropped...She went out and got the far one ~50yds out, and was coming back to the blind when the other one got up to fly. She dropped the one that she was retrieving, and went into high speed mode and trucked the bird trying to fly away. Never seen her get that aggressive with a bird before. Anyhow, she brought it right up to the blind, dropped it off, and hauled ass out to the second bird...rinse and repeat....

Holy shit! I can't even imagine setting out, and then picking up, 500 goose decoys!!! That's crazy! How much does one cost? Then x500? Wow. Not to mention storing them!

I like to shoot birds too, but I can't say I've ever enjoyed eating goose, or duck either. Certainly not enough to justify that expense and hassle. God bless those who do!
There's a lot more of us ugly mf'ers out here than there are of you pretty people!

The majority are shells, and the rest are full bodies. The crew has 2 enclosed trailers, with 3 trucks all fully loaded. So the full bodies run around 20-25$ a pop, and the shells run around 10-15$ a pop...5 guys/members are in the blind and when you split the cost the cost, it's affordable.

Tons of fun! Sky carp are only good for making dog treats though!

tally is up to 9 now...She bull dozed one today pretty good. Kinda looked like a cartoon fight with the snow going everywhere and her and the goose throwing dukes.
