    Default Zero Tolerance 0566

I'm in the market for a new "higher end" EDC folder, for a late birthday present to myself, and I've narrowed it down to the Spyderco manix 2 and the ZT 0566. I realize these are not really in the same category as far as Knife types, but my needs aren't real specific to begin with.
I've handled the manix 2 quite a bit, so I've got a good idea on that knife, but I'd like to know if anyone here has any experience with the 0566 (would be awesome if someone had one I could handle). I messed with the 0560 which is the larger version of the 0566 but there are some significant differences between the two, so that doesn't work.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Also if anyone knows of a local (DenMetro) retailer that may have a decent selection of ZT knives. Sportsmans has three of them, but not the 0566.

I don't want to burst your bubble, and this might not apply to the 0566 but....I owned a 0560 great knife, heavy but built like a tank. Then one day I snagged the clip....and it never went back to true. Seemed like the used the cheap stuff for the clip. I ended up selling it. That's just my experience.

The manix 2 or the manix 2XL? I owned one of those before the 0560. I honestly liked it better. Plus its made in good ol golden co!

Also don't know of anyone carrying the zt line. Ever been to the spyderco factory outlet?

No bubble bursting, thanks for the input.

I'm not too worried about the clip, as it's easily replaceable.

I haven't been to the Spyderco outlet, I should probably check it out sometime. Spyderco's are great knives, but to be honest I'm not too fond of most of their designs (manix being an exception).
I'm really leaning towards the ZT at this point, purely cosmetically speaking, as I'm not hard on knives at all, and performance wise I'm confident in either. I just wish I could handle one first lol.

I would check out the spyderco outlet first. They also don't care if you come in to fondle and buy cheaper online. It's all money in their pocket. My son loves it there.

I had a ZT 200 for a while. Loved the feel and blade. Handled well for a big knife. It was a pig to carry in the front pocket. That said, I am liking the size of the 0566. Looks about the same size as a Benchmade Grip.

If you do get the 0566 check the edge. There have been instances where the edge got too hot during sharpening. Elmax is great steel, very strong. I am a steel snob though.

Might I ask what the knife will be used for?

Mantix is my EDC. Great knife. The clip screws kept coming loose so I had to loctite them. No other complaints. Plus its a mans knife nuf said.

Irving is correct, just everyday carry.

To be perfectly honest, I don't use my knives all that much, and when I do, it's not usually hard use. With that said, the "toys" are few and far between these days, so I'd like a good folder that I'll likely never have to replace.
