If you put in for a point for your first choice you'll get a point and any points you already have stay put (except for moose - you have to apply for a tag every 5 yrs or face losing all of your points).
If you put in for a tag for your second choice you MAY draw a tag IF there are any left after all those who put in for a tag for their first choice have been worked through. If you do draw a tag, you don't lose your points since you drew out on your second choice.
Even if you apply for a tag as your second choice, you still have to pay up front for the tag/pref point. I also believe that you'll still get charged a $3 application fee above the price of the tag.
I hope all those who wanted to apply got their apps in by midnight last night or the only way you're coming to Cinderellas ball this year is via an over-the-counter tag.

If I wanted to buy a tag and hunt there through Tri-State Outfitters the cost would be in the tens of thousands instead of the standard state tag price.
In the mean time I continue to get a deer every year with the bow from my second chioce in my driveway at work.
I say lets all remove the warning labels and let nature take its course.
