Default Adams Arms drop in piston kit

Just wanted to give my 2 cents on the Adams Arms Piston kit I recently installed on my sbr rifle.
I only put 40 rounds through on this initial trial, but I will update in the coming week on further tests. I used a Noveske with a 10.5 in barrel and a new Troy polymer mag.
    1. Kit was a cinch to install
    2. Fit and finish is great
    3. First round fired perfectly but 2nd round fed but the bolt didn't lock up and the firing pin just bumped the primer so it didn't fire.
    4. I ejected the cartridge and reloaded into the magazine and re-fired with no problems
    5. 38 more rounds fired perfectly, alternating between single shots and rapid 3 and 4 round shots.

Overall I am very satisfied so far. Not sure as to why I had the malfunction on the 2nd round. The Troy magazine was brand new so maybe that had something to do with it.

    More to come.

I have 3 of them on couple 16" and a 11.5" Love them! One of the carbine has seen the upward of 12k w/o any major malfunction. In fact it has been 5k since I cleaned it. Love it!

Was considering doing one for my 300blk. What hand guards are you using? Have heard some wont clear the pistons.

Got 4 of them now.. 2 of them under old school DD quad rails, 1 under troy alpha, and last one is the AA Evo upper.

latest gen of magpul moe hg's work. The early ones do not have that hump / rise in the center of the top hg. I milled out a samson rail for one upper.

    my AR build is
    Mag Tactical lower
an Adams Arms upper 16" barrel with a mid length gas system..
I run full magpul furniture with a basic MOE front guard, and magpul vertical .
BCM large handle, ambi safety, fixed 45 degree BIS, DI buffer spring, cheap comp.
I have gen3 and gen4 magpuls and it runs great.

    love this gun,
I have had zero ammo issues and tried all sorts of ammo, Tul, Wolf, Brown Bear, surplus military, freedom arms import mostly cheap stuff, but it runs PMC X-tac just fine
I have never taken this to beyond 100m, need to do that. but it shoots nice (6") groups at 100m with a dot, and stays very tight with my scope on it.

I have had one problem with it and it was my fault.. first time cleaning it I put the rod bushing on wrong and mangled my Rod spring..
I have since replaced the spring and bought an extra to add to my AR emergency parts kit.

this build cost me a bit more than a basic AR but I love this gun.
