OK, I think I'm interested in doing this.

Should I bother buying the AARL book for the tech/general license, or should I just use ham study and apps? Which iPad/iPhone apps are y'all using?

I have zero knowledge of any of this ... haven't even used a CB before... how much time should I plan on using to study?

If you have zilch experience, I would consider getting the study guides from ARRL. After that, see if you can tag with one of us hams, so you can see how this stuff works first hand. It'll make a lot more sense that way, IMO

If anyone in the NW Denver/Wheat Ridge/Lakewood area wants to give me a "tour", I'd be interested.

We need a get-together. If not at just some random Dennys to have a grand-slam, and afterwards show off radios in the parking lot.

Just across the street from ya and can meet sometime for a quick show and tell. Mobile setups in a couple of my vehicles. Your place or mine.

My current plan is to be there.
What is my joy if all hands, even the unclean, can reach into it? What is my wisdom, if even the fools can dictate to me? What is my freedom, if all creatures, even the botched and impotent, are my masters? What is my life, if I am but to bow, to agree and to obey?
