lol you guys. If anyone is struggling with the tech test, post and let us know. Im pretty confident that we can get you thru it. If you're nervous about going alone to take the test, perhaps some can team up and go together. I've been debating about studying for my extra license, so with some time to prep, someone down in my neck of the woods that wants a tag along I could go with.

What ^he^ said. ask away! I know many of us will help in any way we can. If you need study get-togethers, lets do that!

Nice thing about the tests are the questions and answers are published. You only need to be familiar with the key words.

I have the following names as needing to take the license test: asmo, Irving, cstone, davsel, sellersm, Tim K, skullybones, Brian, and bobbyfairbanks

Would those of you who live in the greater Denver area consider taking the test with Asmo on Feb 1? There is plenty of time to be fully prepared for the Technician-level test, and probably the General as well.

For those who lie in the Springs Streetglideok can get you squared away soon.

This is easy stuff, guys, and we can help you. Just speak up!

I'm 2/3 of the way through Ham Radio For Dummies. Unlike many of you, I have ZERO background with this stuff, so I needed to read something to familiarize me with everything. Once I finish this book, I'll work on the flash cards and go from there. I don't know if I can make it by Feb 1st. If it feels like I can, I'll pm Asmo and try to hook up with him.

I bought the flash cards and ended up tossing them in the recycling bin: the free online version is so much easier. You toggle through the cards and if you pick the wrong answer, it highlights the correct one. My wife spent about three hours online and passed the test....she had zero background in this stuff (I didn't either, it was more alien to me than general chem in college).

If you spent two hours with the online version this afternoon, you could easily pass the test tomorrow morning.

That's the site I've been using (from your other post) and the "flashcards" I meant. I checked out the site, got the first one wrong, and went and got the book. I've been alternating between hamstudy and the book and have been doing a bit better.
