    Default New Subforum Suggestion

Would it be helpful or useful to have a "Recommendations" subforum? This would be a place where members can post recommendations for landscapers, auto mechanics, A/C companies, plumbers, babysitters, you name it.

    yes? no?

Depends if you want to take this from a gun site to an everything site. It's okay to wander.

What do you mean wander? To where shall I wander? This site is the only place I know...

I just thought it might be nice to get business recommendations from folks with similar interests.

Okay, we got a DIY subforum, but no recommendations subforum?

How come Stu is getting preferential treatment?!?

If nobody else thinks it would be helpful, then we can let this one die. There are already a lot of subforums, and I don't want to muddy things up even more. Maybe we can make this idea into a sticky in the DIY subforum?

So is that a unanimous "no"?

I didn't suggest the DIY forum; but I sure jumped in with both feet.

Maybe I didn't explain this very well. I was looking for a place where people could go to find a trusted auto mechanic, plumber, electrician, etc. Someplace where you can get a trusted recommendation and don't have to worry about getting ripped off. The "Wanted" subforum is geared more toward buying products, not services.

99% of my need is fulfilled by 'Just In a Minute' guy. You may know him too. He lives in windsor and go by the abbreviation, JIM.

    EDIT w/ a recent recommendation..

"Jim, my octopus furnace is broken. Noone knows how to fix it. It's built 90 years ago"
"I ll text you the number to a guy who's been working on those for 95 years in just a minute!"
