    Default Teller County Shooting range

Anyone know anything about the progress on the Teller County Shooting Society range up near Victor? I heard they broke ground a few months ago.

In case you all were wondering it is supposed to have a rifle range out to 5 or 600 yards, clays, bunch of pistol bays, covered outdoor benches. Looks good on paper. Hope it finishes soon. Land was donated for a range from some 2A friendly Victor Gold mine bigwig. That's what I heard anyway.

It's good to hear they are finally moving on the project. Not sure I'll use the range, but it's never bad to have new ones.
It's not the odds. It's the stakes.

Never heard of it? Would be nice to have another range but Victor is pretty far away to go shoot for most people.

Rampart Range (off the road not the range itself) was always my place to go until they closed the range down. In 10 years I never ran into another soul up there, then I couldn't find a place to go that wasn't getting bombarded with birdshot or rounds whizzing by, not to mention all the trash thats now everywhere up there. Thanks to the libs for that. Best part is, they closed it for safety and conservation

I usually go up during the week so haven't had any issues with stray rounds but the trash situation just pisses me off to no end. It really makes us look like a bunch of douche bags. I wish people would have the respect to pick up after themselves. I haul out as much as I can each time I go up (my stuff plus everyone else's crap) The shotgun shells are the worst. Thousands and thousand of them littering the ground

The shot shells are bad but the excess of washing machines and water heaters makes my head hurt. It was such a beautiful area

From their website http://www.tcss-co.org/Home_Page.html : "Ground breaking has been delayed until Spring when the frost has gone and it is possible to move dirt."
Common sense is a punishment for having to deal with those who don't have it.

The Teller County Shooting Society range is open and operational for members. Currently, there is a 100 yard range , a long rifle range with four shooting positions and berms and metal targets set at 200, 300, and 400 yards. Phase I of the 25 yard pistol range has been completed. Shooting berm and side berms have been completed. The parking lot and access road are in but not completed. The pistol range should be completed in 2020. A trap house has been completed and the trap positions should be completed in 2020.
The shooting venues (ranges) will ultimately include: -- 50 yd. Small-bore Rifle and Handgun, -- 100 yd. rifle, -- 500 yd. High Power Rifle, -- Combined Trap and Skeet (4 ranges)

    Membership is $150/year; https://tcss-co.org/
