    When I was a Junior in high school, one class you had to do projects where you presented something to the class. I had NO idea what to do for my first one and picked survival in the wild. Mind you, I had zero interest in that kind of stuff like I do now, so in retrospect, it was ironic that I chose that topic. Anyway, I remember one of the tips for survival in a raft was to catch a turtle, immediately flip it over, slit its throat, and drink its blood. Surprising to me that someone actually claims to have done it.

    stu it is very common in survival at sea stories, turtles are handy they bring their own dishes. This is by far the longest adrift I've heard of.
