Default Ford Ranger turn signal issue

I have an 02 ford ranger and when I turn on my turn signal and complete my turn, it won't click back off unless I turn it off. Do I need to replace the whole turn signal part like this

or is there something else I should do? its not a big deal, just kinda annoying.

There is usually something that hits that switch when you turn the wheel back the other way. It might be called a cancellation switch but chances are that is what is broke.

Don't feel bad I have to replace the one in the GP as well. In my case the high beams like to stay on. Since I go to work in the dark I just stuff something in there to hold it back but this only works if I leave my turn signals alone. Catch 22, have the cop pull you over for high beams or no signal.

You have a disc on the steering shaft that is for the horn and signal cancellation and the switch has "fingers" that engage it.
    One of them has failed.
Switches usually run about $30.00 and the worst part of swapping them out is usually pulling the steering wheel and getting the lock plate off.
Unless it is tilt wheel, then you discover new words.
