    Default Furnace help please!

Woke up this morning to a 55degree house and dropping. Furnace is a carrier showing fault code 34. I've reset everything a few times. Blower is running but I'm not getting ignition. Any thoughts before I call a tech?

First thing is to check the filter and make sure everything is clean. You might have a bad ignitor. Found this online:

34 .IGNITION PROVING FAILURE - Control will try three more times before a lockout #14
occurs. If flame signal lost after trial for ignition period, blower will come on for 90 second
    recycle delay.
    - Oxide buildup on flame sensor (clean with fine sandpaper).
    - Proper flame sense microamps (.5 microamps D.C. minimum).
    - Gas valve turned off. - Manual shut-off valve.
    - Green wire MUST be connected to furnace sheet metal.
    - Inadequate flame carryover or rough ignition.
    - Low inlet gas pressure

Most often this is caused from a shorted ignitor. Sometimes you get carbon build up on the flame sensor and it needs to be cleaned. I would check the ignitor. If there is a small white crack in the center of it then it needs to be replaced. If you have an ohm meter, the proper resistance for the ignitor is between 50 and 100 ohms. If there is no reading from your meter then the ignitor is open (bad). Make sure your equipment ground is clean and making good contact to the unit chasis. To clean the sensor use your fingers and rub the sensor until the black stuff comes off. DO NOT use sand paper to clean. The sensor has a coating over it that will be taken off by abrasive material. Hope this helps.
