For $600 you can have an AK that uses mags which are not half ass functioning boat anchors. Has a good trigger and IF the need to sell it came up would be gone, while this "bullpup" would still be BTT, in the trading post.

-how much of that is the paint job?
I never had issues with tapco mags in the handful of sks rifles I've played with. Cheap steel and plastic mags have all been crap though I've heard of good steel mags being out there.

There's a guy from CA that posts on various gun forums and he has turned a 10/22 into just about every imaginable assault rifle, it's simultaneously amusing/sad. Amusing that someone would pump that much into dozens of 10/22's, and sad that in CA, a 10/22 is as close as you will ever get to those rifles.
I think the guys screen name is something like Defcon or similar, a search should bring it up.
