I didn't see any kind of recent thread on this and could use some help. Wife and I are planning to get all new appliances in the kitchen. I've never bought appliances brand new and could use any tips/insight. Couple questions that first come to mind:

Does anyone here work at an appliance store?
When's the best time to buy? We can wait a couple months if Memorial day is worth waiting for.
Any brands to avoid?
I'm going to compare the usual suspects (Lowes, Home Depot, Best Buy) but what about Mountain High appliances? Has anyone gone through them? Ive heard Factory Appliance Outlet can be a major headache and I'd rather avoid that.
