    is it a rifle length gas system? are you shooting .223 or 5.56. the misalignment is more likely, but i once had a rifle length bushy that would not cycle .223

    Thank you for everyones help! It was an alignment issue with the front gas block over the gas port on the barrel. Like I said I am a newbie, I am definitely learning. I appreciate the input.

    Ammo, hand guard free floating or replaced stock ones. Front gas block clamp / pinch or set screw from bottom ? having more info shrinks the trouble shooting.
