I have two that are affected, however they both have 1lb Timney's in them now, so I guess I'm ok. It sounds like the recall is internal to the trigger only?

Frustrated. This is the second time I've had to send mine back. Both factory issues. Love the rifle but it's upsetting when you have a brand new one and it's had to go to the factory twice. Oh well.

Has anyone called Remington to find out how long it takes to get the rifle back? I've been so slammed with work I haven't had time to even spend 5min to call when Rem is open.

I was considering the Jewell, but after lots of research am starting to lean towards a Timney 510 set at 2.5lbs. And since the cost dropped almost in half from wanting the Jewell to the Timney, I could pretty much buy the new trigger now and not worry about losing my rifle for weeks to months.

I was finally able to get ahold of someone at Remington, here's what I found out:

What Must Be Returned - Ship ENTIRE rifle MINUS the scope (they provide box/shipping label)
Return Time - At LEAST 4-6 weeks, but no definitive time frame at this time
Compensation - NONE (Well, free recall repair, free shipping, possibly 40% off remington.com accessories, so in reality, none without giving more money to them)

I think I've decided I'm going to just get a Timney 510 and forget it all together.

Thanks for going through the hoops to get this info!

No problem. For the record, I bought my Timney 510 from Timney directly. Got it in 3 days. Requested 2.5lbs from you factory and while I haven't measured, it feels AWESOME!!

My 5r fell into the recall too, so I'm thinking I'm going to grab a timney too, anyone local that sells them?

Awesome. I'm about a couple more days from breaking down and doing this. Stupid that you can't just send the action to Remington instead of an entire rifle. (I mean, if I get the Timney trigger, I still would like to have a 'safe' stock action that isn't under recall)

By action you mean trigger group?
