    Yup, don't even mess with it and hang a quality aftermarket on it.

    Just FYI for those of you who installed a Timney 510. I went to take mine to the range on Monday to test some reloads. It was the first time I got to shoot my rifle with the Timney trigger. Aside from how awesomely perfect the trigger was there was one problem. Before I left for the range, I was doing a little dry fire practice. When I cycled the bolt the first time, it smacked me in the face. Turns out, the bolt stop push tab on the trigger was jammed in and wasn't popping back out. I took my rifle out of my stock and found the little tab that engages with the bolt stop lever, slipped out of the groove in the lever and was behind it, jamming the thing up. I popped it back in place and pressed that tab a few more times and it would pop out about once every 2-3 presses, especially if I pushed it all the way in.

    Quick google search turned up the Timney directions, where step 5 says to bend the tab until it engages. I did this and it worked fine out of the stock, then once I installed it in the stock, I noticed that bolt stop side plate (the plate that attaches to the side of the trigger) was rubbing on the trigger guard. I got out my small jewelers files, and then eventually a big file. After filing down a tiny portion of the insdie of the trigger guard, the bolt stop release tab worked perfectly. I then noticed the safety was rubbing on the trigger guard too, so I filed that down a bit. I'll try to post pictures of the work I did so it makes more sense, but just be warned in case this happens to you.

    And yes, I read the Timney directions, but it worked fine so I decided not to bend any metal.

    Lazarus Thread. I purchased a Timney Trigger, but I decided I'm going to install it in another post-recall Rem700. I don't want to pay another $120 towards my .308 rem700, so I'm doing the factor recall process.
    Has anyone been through the process? I registered online and they sent me a confirmation email, and the shipping box arrived promptly. However, inside was just a very short sheet for packing instructions (don't send a loaded firearm, remove the scope) but it did not contain any shipping labels/tags, and no further instructions other than to contact remington when you're ready for UPS to pickup the package.

    Does the same UPS label that they shipped the empty box to me serve as the return label? Am I missing something here? None of the emails that Remington sent me contain any instructions or labels to print out, other than "Remington will cover all related shipping, inspection, and repair charges to your rifle. Please do not return your rifle to Remington before receiving these materials to expedite delivery of your rifle to the specific Remington facility dedicated to this recall program."

    I guess I'll call them on Monday, but just curious if anyone else had a similar process.
