Default SHTF battle-rattle: What do you think is important to have?

Thought i would start a thread that deals with the beyond BOB, GOOD, INCH bag. When you are going to "grab-and-go" My firearm and LBE are coming with me. Unfortunately training with it on during neighborhood walks is a little out of the question, but I wear it at the range to get accustomed to the weight.

My gear is far from finished, but I have ammo, multitool, .22 Single six and some .22LR. Wondering what you all have thought would be important enough to put on your belt or vest, etc. I also have a few pouches that I could put some goodies in like a cleaning kit or a compass, monocular, etc. I am sure a good blow out kit would be good.

A goo defensive handgun I know .22 can stop the threat but want a bit more authority should the need arise and ifak is a must as well
You sir, are a specialist in the art of discovering a welcoming outcome of a particular situation....not a mechanic.

My feedback add 11-12 ish before the great servpocaylpse of 2012

I forgot to mention that I have a holster on the vest as well that will accomodate my EDC. I want to get the least fumbling around for this gear as possible. The Single Six is on a drop holster that is easy to remove if I need to, but it is pre positioned right now.

Mine is almost identical to cofi's.

Cofi - Go with the Tactical Tailor Removable Operator Pack it is nearly identical but half the cost. You and I have almost the exact same setup, I do not use my Chest Rig on my Plate Carrier though. The TT ROP works great on the Mayflower APC.

I have most everything set in modules. It is kinda broken up so if time is critical we can grab just what we need to survive the next week or so, if we have more time we can pack and move accordingly. Flexibility is KEY to this as has been said above.

Basement window wells make good DFPs? Still need a place on your person to carry your mags.

It's all scaled to the particular threat/environment at the time. If you are thinking zombies then armor is not needed since zombies don't shoot back. If you are planning for a Red Dawn type scenario then totally different. Probably low pro gear and plates in an urban environment and more camo gear and camping stuff for bailing to the mountains. These questions are all situation dependant. Remember, mission drives the gear. If you don't know he mission yet, stay flexible.

Semper Gumby, Yup. However, I'm wanting to have the basics on the ensemble ready and pre-positioned. I am sure whatever situation it is, time is of the essence, because you will have to deal with other parts of your situation (returning fire, repelling boarders, getting ready to leave, etc).

The most time I can save by having something ready to go, and keep the situation-specific items ready to add to the gear off and within reach will allow me to concentrate on other perhaps non-defensive aspects of my situation.
